HostTALK Core Features

Conference Calling

Allows you to talk with two or more people at the same time. The number of participants is dependent on the bandwidth available at your site.

Auto Attendant*

This is an automated answering device which routes calls to the appropriate place, based on user defined steps and responses to prompts. The prompts are recorded via a hostTALK handset through the Web Provisioning System.

Voice Mail*

An automated phone-messaging system. It allows a caller to leave a message for someone who is on a call or otherwise unavailable. The person being called can then retrieve and review the message at their convenience, and follow up as necessary. With hostTALK the message can also be sent to an email address as a sound file.

Hunt Groups*

Used to distribute calls to individual extensions in a specific sequence such as first to last. With hostTALK the hunt group can be set up to ring in sequence, in order of longest idle, in broadcast, or circular. Phones can be part of multiple hunt groups and a hunt group can now be forwarded to another hunt group or extension.

Call Forwarding

A feature allowing the subscriber to forward a call to another telephone number. With hostTALK the number a call is directed to can be determined by a variety of factors including:

  • If the call is internal or external
  • The status of the phone is busy
  • or for all incoming calls.

Music on Hold

A number of predefined music files can be set as the hold music for incoming callers.

Extension Mobility

Allows users to log into another phone, anywhere within the company, and their profile, including DDI, will follow them to that location.

Pick Up Groups

Allows you to pick up calls from other groups (i.e. accounts, sales etc) using your own handset.

Video Conferenencing

This involves two or more parties in different locations engaging in communication via video transmission. With hostTALK you require a Cisco 7940 IP Phone or above and a Cisco VT Advantage camera and software.
